Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-driven and flexible individual to fill the role of Construction Manager. The primary role of the Construction Manager is to work with office and site personnel in scheduling,budgets, qaulity, stakeholder satisfaction and design. The Construction Manager works closely with the client and consultant team and maintains excellent relationships with trades, suppliers, consultants and clients.

Responsibilities of the Construction Manager will include the following:

Budget

  • Prepare detailed project budget and meet or exceed target margins.

Schedule:

  • Prepare detailed construction schedules.
  • Manage and report on project schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Meet or exceed the project milestones and project schedule.

Quality:

  • Manage scope of project, working with design consultant and client's expectations for final finished product.

Leadership:

  • Responsible for the motivation, coaching and faciliation of communication with the entire project team, incuding consultants, finance, superintendents, trades and suppliers, and client in order to acheive budget, scope quality and schedule of budget.
  • Understand and manage client expectation and business issues.

Project Administration:

  • Manage the bid process and be accountable for same.
  • Ensure all contracts are issued in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Review and update project cost control reports on a monthly basis.
  • Attend weekly meetings to ensure client satisfaction and review any on-site issues/concerns that need to be addressed.

Safety:

  • Ensure all WorkSafe BC practices are being followed at all times and report infractions to ensure safetyof employees, trades and the commuity.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to work with constantly changing pirorities and to manage multiple projects simultaneiously. Further, the candidate will ideally possess the following

  • At least five years' experience in a construction management role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experise with MS Office, including MS Excel and MS Projects.
  • Experience with SAGE 300CRE and SiteMax is an asset.
  • Estimating experience.
  • Knowledge of Provincial building codes, BC Housing Residential Construction Guidelines, building envelope.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of coordination and administration activities to assist in the effective construction of ongoing projects in pre-construction, construction and warranty stages.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The key responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will include the following:

  • Assume full responsibility for the execution of each assignment to which he/she is assigned.
  • Coordinate and liaise between clients, consultants, suppliers, contractors and trades.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in developing a list of sub-trades and suppliers that will be asked to tender the project(s).
  • Prepare tender documents and issue to trades for pricing.
  • Analysis of submitted tenders and quotes for review and approval by the Construction Manager.
  • Process and draft contracts, including the specific scope of work and schedules that is applicable for each sub-contractor, for the Construction Manager’s review and approval.
  • Process and maintain construction filing for each project in electronic and hard copy format.
  • Complete and compile minutes for Construction Manager for all meetings with other professionals.
  • Assist in issuing RFIs and tracking to completion with documentation, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of Change Orders with documentation, etc.
  • Be responsible for the development & implementation strategy of your career development. This will be an ongoing process in conjunction with your Construction Manager.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to work with constantly changing priorities and to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Further, the candidate will possess the following:

  • At least two years’ construction related experience which directly relates to project coordination, or related education.
  • Knowledge of drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise with MS Office, including MS Excel and MS Projects.

Job Description

We currently have an opening in our accounting department for an experienced Accounting Clerk. The right individual will have the opportunity to grow with our company with the possibility of evolving into a more senior role as the needs of the company expand.

 

Your main duties will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

 

Accounts Receivable/Billing:

·         Generate monthly construction draw packages for Project Accounts

·         Produce monthly billing for Contract and T&M work with appropriate documentation

·         Record deposits in accounting system (EFT, Cheques and/or cash payments)

·         Follow up on overdue customer accounts

·         Create monthly AR reports for financials

 

Accounts Payable:

·         Batch invoices received via mail and e-mail for monthly construction draws to be entered into the accounting system

·         Match requisite back-up documents to invoices obtained from site

·         Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations

 

General Accounting:

·         Monthly preparation of accurate bank reconciliations (project accounts)

·         Complete bank transfers between project and main accounts

·         Enter journal entries as required to accurately record day-to-day transactions

·         Produce and record monthly fixed asset and prepaid schedules

·         Complete monthly working papers and account reconciliation reports

·         Assist in monthly financial reports as required

·         Assist with GST/PST & WCB returns

·         Assist Controller in additional duties as required.

 

General Administration:

·         Assist with social media postings (i.e., LinkedIn)

·         Assist with documenting and updating standard operating procedures, as required.

 

Requirements

·         Post-secondary education in accounting with 2-3 years computerized accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; working towards a professional accounting designation is an asset. 

·         Experience working with Sage Accounting system preferred

·         Working knowledge of accounting processes and experience in a high-volume accounting environment; prior experience in an Accounts Payable role is an asset

·         Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Excel; proficiency in Timberline is an asset

·         Solid communication skills (oral and written) and demonstrated excellent customer service abilities

·         Strong Organizational Skills/Flexibility - Able to prioritize tasks and at the same time be flexible enough to manage numerous varying tasks throughout the day while still maintaining a high level of accuracy.

·         Previous experience in the construction industry an asset
